President
Primary Responsibilities
· Provide visible leadership to the EHMHA membership, bench staff and the Executive Board
· Promote EHMHA’s standing in the community by being positive and staying true to the values of EH hockey, the OMHA, OHF, and Hockey Canada
· Collaborate and provide general supervision with the Board focused on areas such as association objectives, hockey
operations, financial performance, policy and procedure
· Stay connected with governing bodies such as Tri-County and the OMHA on matters such as updated programming and
governance matters
· Network with Tri-County and OMHA hockey centres to learn from and share with others
· Operate as a Risk Management guardian
· Report matters of interest to the Board
· Chair Board meetings
· Participate in volunteer interviews as necessary
· Act as an escalation point on issues as necessary
· Monitor the President email account and field enquiries in a timely manner
Requirements
· Applicants are required to have 2 years of past service on the EHMHA Executive Board
· The President is elected at the EHMHA Annual General Meeting (AGM) or by the EHMHA Executive and is appointed for a
term of 24 months. This role is a voting member of the Board and on sub-committees
· Estimated time commitment is approximately 15 hours per month year-round with additional time spent in March-April and
August-September for closing and opening of seasons
· Chair Executive Board Meetings (10 per year)
· Chair the Annual General Meeting in May
· Access to internet, email, MS Word and Excel or equivalent/compatible
· A member of the EHMHA in good standing and will abide by its policies, rules and by-laws
