Select (Erin-Hillsburgh Minor Hockey Association)

Program Overview
Our Select hockey program offers kids in Local League an opportunity for additional exhibition games and practices as part of an "all-star" team.

When are Select tryouts?
Select tryouts schedule will be posted prior to the season and only after a Rep team has been formed.

Will there be a Select team in my division?
There can only be a Select team in a division that fields a Rep team (i.e. if there is no PeeWee Rep team, there cannot be a PeeWee Select team). A Select team will run as long as a coach comes forward and there are enough interested players at the tryout.

What is the time commitment for Select?
Select teams can participate in no more than 4 practices and 1 home game in a month. Select teams can also enter tournaments and Erin-Hillsburgh Select teams usually enter a tournament or two over the season.

Who does the Select team play?
Select teams participate in exhibition games set up by the team's coaching staff. They do not participate in a league.

Are there extra costs associated with Select?
There will be additional costs to cover extra ice time and tournament entry fees. This cost is set by the coach based on the specific program and will be communicated to the parents during the tryouts.

What if a Select game is scheduled for the same time as a Local League game?
A player's commitment to their Local League team takes priority over their Select team (an OMHA regulation). A player put in the position to choose between their Local League and their Select commitments MUST choose the Local League team.
