EHMHA primary objective is “hockey for life”
The EHMHA Board of Directors has worked on creating a Strategic Plan which will be our guide in all operations.
Additional we have started discussions with Orangeville about a Joint Boundary Pilot Initiative, the goal of which is to improve programming and ice usage in our town.
Joint Boundary Pilot Initiative with Orangeville.
The main reason this idea started is because both of our centres are experiencing a decline in membership and resulting competitiveness:
o This will eliminate the boundary between our two centres, we are not folding our league into Orangeville but will create a new centre together.
o It is not for this upcoming season, if approved by membership, it will start 2021-22 season
o The plan is for the same number of rep teams combined - not less, and teams will be structured with major and minor age groups.
o The intention is to continue to fully use C2000 and Hillsburgh arena as we do now; it will increase needed ice time, not reduce it
o It is aimed to create more opportunities for players and increased development for more closely matched caliber of play and encouraging players to stay local
o Our Local League & CHIP programs will continue to run as they do now
