Welcome to our New VP Ops - Jeff Oakley
Dear Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those who do not already know me.

My name is Jeff Oakley and I am the new V.P. of Operations with EHMHA.  I have lived in the Erin/Hillsburgh area my whole life and grew up playing hockey in our community.

I started with Hillsburgh Minor Hockey, which then amalgamated with Erin Minor Hockey to become what we have today, EHMHA. Before the amalgamation, it was a rather bitter rivalry between Erin and Hillsburgh, so when we did amalgamate it was very bizarre sitting in the dressing room with your new teammates that you used to dislike.  But it did not take long to create new life long friendships!

After my minor hockey career came to an end with Juvenile, I went on to play Senior hockey with the Grand Valley Tornadoes.  It was a rather rough league, so I ended up joining the Hillsburgh Rec League and played there for approximately 20 years with many of my friends from my EHMHA days.
Once my son turned 3, I gave up my rec league career to focus on his start in hockey. I was an on ice helper for all his years in CHIPS, trainer/assistant coach for Tyke, Novice, Atom AE, and most recently Atom BB.  I have made many new friends and acquaintances and learned a ton along the way.
I have now stepped into this position hoping to make a positive difference for everyone involved.  I am open to new ideas and input, and I am here to help with any conflicts that may arise.
I look forward to being involved in the progression and improvement of the association.

Please reach out to me to discuss any suggestions or concerns you may have.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the rink in the near future!
Regards,
Jeff Oakley
