Kevin Baldwin – U9MD Head Coach
Kevin Baldwin is a dedicated coach who brings both passion and experience to the U9MD program. Having grown up playing rep minor hockey for the Erin Devils, Kevin understands firsthand what it means to develop in this community. Now, as a coach, he’s focused on helping players build their skills, develop confidence, and love the game.
Kevin has spent the past four years working with the U5/U7 programs and was part of the U9LL bench staff during the 2023/24 season. In the 2024/25 season, he stepped into the role of head coach for U9LL, continuing his commitment to developing athletes by focusing on fundamentals, fostering a strong work ethic, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
His coaching philosophy is centered on skill development, competitiveness, and hard work, all while keeping the game fun and engaging. He believes that a great team is built on strong bonds and friendships, and that players grow best in an environment where they are supported, encouraged, and challenged to reach their highest potential.
Kevin’s proudest moments as a coach come from watching his team grow and improve—seeing kids he worked with at the early levels develop into stronger, more confident players over time. Building strong connections in the Erin hockey community, where he played his own minor hockey career, is what excites him most about coaching.
Off the ice, Kevin stays involved by participating in social events and fundraisers that support the local hockey community, such as the Erin Outlaws game.
If he could coach any NHL player as a kid, Kevin’s choice would be Sidney Crosby, believing that his skill and hard work could inspire young athletes to push themselves further. His advice to every player is simple but essential: "Keep moving your feet. The puck isn't going to just come to you."
With his commitment to player development, passion for the game, and connection to the Erin hockey community, Kevin Baldwin is a valued leader who is shaping the next generation of hockey players.
